Ceramic Bowl

Born from a love for Ramen and wheel throwing, along with a wish to bring past memories back to life.

The Foot

A bare foot meets the coral-textured glaze of the arching bowl. This small part of the bowl’s character fulfills an important role needed when throwing a bowl; stability, strengthening of the vessel, and aesthetic.

The Interior

A soft and smooth glaze covers the interior as a blanket of glass. This glaze is food safe, and ensures the bowl can carry liquids without it seeping into the porous fired clay, an extremely important element needed in a Ramen Bowl.

The Exterior

Smooth meets Rugged: A thin strip where the white glaze ends, while the thick coating of blue begins its embrace of the gently sloping sides. For purely aesthetic reasons, this gem-like glaze was chosen. The contrast of it’s thick bodied glass compared to the slender and smooth finish of the speckled’s; clouds meet icy peaks, ocean collides with ash, opal meets quartz.
